The Inner Game Nobody Else Is Working On

Elite football invests everything in the physical, the technical and the tactical. But the person inside the player — their identity, their resilience, who they are when the game gets hard — often gets left to chance. That's the work Lee does.

What nobody around you at the club can hear

You're performing at the highest level, and most people around you see only the footballer. But you're carrying things privately that don't fit neatly into a conversation with your manager, your physio, or even your agent.

These aren't weaknesses. They're the reality of performing at elite level with your whole identity on the line, week after week.

Lee provides something most professional footballers have never had access to: a genuinely independent, completely confidential space to work through what's really going on. Not to fix a problem, but to develop the person. Players who do this work don't just cope better. They perform better, transition better, and live better.

What's said here, stays here

Coaching in the sporting world requires absolute discretion. All sessions with Lee are strictly confidential. Clients are never named without explicit permission, and the coaching relationship is built entirely on trust.

Many of Lee's sporting clients value this above all else. They know they have a genuinely safe space to be honest about their challenges, doubts and ambitions, with nothing leaving the room.

Grounded in sport. Built for the professional game.

Lee holds a BSc (Hons) in Sports Science from the University of Wales, Bangor, a Certificate in Player Care from The Player Care Group, and 25 years at the top of global financial services. It's a combination that gives him a perspective most coaches don't have.

The sharpest corporate leaders and the best professional footballers face versions of the same challenges: performing under intense pressure, managing identity when results go against you, and finding a way to keep going when doubt creeps in. Lee has spent a career inside one of those worlds, and been grounded in the science of the other since his degree. He understands what elite performance costs, from both sides.

A theme that runs through much of Lee's work is identity, both on and off the pitch. At the highest levels of sport, it's easy for the athlete to become inseparable from the performance. Lee helps performers develop a strong, grounded sense of who they are beyond the game: a foundation that enriches life away from sport, and one that often quietly strengthens performance within it.

Coaching at the highest levels of the game

Lee works primarily within football, with experience coaching at professional and international level.

Elite Players

Independent, one-to-one coaching for professional footballers. Not employed by your club. Not connected to your agent. Working entirely for you.

Sessions cover whatever matters most: form and confidence, identity and self-worth, handling pressure and scrutiny, life beyond the game, or simply having a space where you can be completely honest without consequences.

All sessions are strictly confidential. What's discussed stays between us.

Transition Coaching in Sport

Moving clubs. Returning from injury. International call-ups. Retirement and post-playing career transitions. Sport is full of pivotal moments that require more than technical skill to navigate. They can also challenge your deepest sense of identity and who you are away from the game.

Lee provides the coaching support to make those transitions successfully, with a clear and grounded sense of self on both sides.

Performance Under Pressure

Penalty shoot-outs. High-stakes matches. Selection battles. Media scrutiny. The mental edge is often what makes the difference when the physical and technical are equal.

Lee works with players to develop the psychological resilience and clarity to perform when it matters most.

Life Beyond the Pitch

Football is what you do. It isn't who you are, even if it sometimes feels that way.

The best players develop a rich, grounded sense of themselves away from the game: their relationships, their interests, their values, who they are when the boots come off. Not because it makes them less committed to football, but because it makes them more complete, and ultimately more resilient when the game gets difficult.

Lee works with players on the person behind the player: building a strong, authentic identity that exists independently of form, results, and what anyone else thinks.
